I trim stomach hair on my boys, from about the bottom of the ribcage to the back legs. They didn't really have any hair there, other than the pee string, until they were about 5 years old. Now they seem to be growing more hair, require more trimming.
I leave their chest hair. Some people trim deeper into the chest and armpit area.
