Chilli was doing the same thing. I tried picking it up immidately and saying 'bravo' everytime while i'm taking it, i wanted him to understand that that is 'my job' to take it..before that he was hiding it from me and when we solved that he was bringing it to bed and then he was bringing it to me and waiting for the treat...and yes it's all gross, but i think with giving him a treat could while you are picking up the poop could work!
