Is it liquid, is that why you have to force it? I'm assuming so. Otherwise if it's a pill, you can give w/ peanut butter or cheese.
But yes, you could absolutely just put it on the food if she eats it up at meal time - that's totally fine! I've had to use Metro / flagyl before too and I always did the food thing.
