The cough being suppressed is the biggest factor to the inflammation healing. If he doesn't stop coughing, you'll have to take him back and have them shoot him up with butorphanol +/- acepromazine. Oxygen for CT is overrated. Try taking him in the bathroom while a hot shower is going, this helps my dog a lot.

I would move the care of this dog to an internal medicine specialist. Btw, I use high doses of Hycodan. The pill is 5mg and I use 1/2 in my 8 lb dog. It works for us better than about 8 other drugs we tried. Ours has a severe collapse at the thoracic inlet like your dog, but his symptoms are managed.
Thank you for your advice! I have been following your responses on other threads and it's good to hear that you have your boys issue managed well! I gave him half the dose of prednisone at 4 am (I was desperate) it seemed to finally take the edge off and he is no longer panting. I'm going to call the vet this morning and request a diff treatment. I want the cough suppressant (hycodon) I hope she gives it to me without me bringing him in. I have video of how he was all night but he just can't afford to get worked up at all again. I pray there isn't too much permanent damage to his trachea from this horrible night.
