Glad to hear Charlie is recovering well from his teeth removal surgery and that you're managed to establish a process in leaving him at home!
I thought of something you might wanna try as part of your 'great escape'...
Not sure if Charlie does a good
stay, but I usually have Scottie
stay on his bed while I load up some of his treats in his treat dispenser and put it in a visible spot that's far from him. Then, when I'm at the door, I tell him to
go get it and he dashes for the treat dispenser while I close and lock up the door. It really helps redirect his focus away from the fact that I'm leaving to
gotta get all these yummy treats out nowww!
