I got my Monty when he was 8 months old and he marked EVERYTHING!! All the time. ALL the time! I didn't get him neutered right away because he came with a parasite and that wound up taking 1.5 months to get rid of.

Needless to say .... while treating the giardia ... he continued to mark in the apt and anywhere else he happened to be. I did the best I could keeping up with him knowing that the neuter was coming. Knowing as well that neutering doesn't always help.

He was neutered on March 22 and ... tadaaa! No marking! What? Smile. I am a lucking dog owner. Yep.

He has passed the test in Petsmart (only lifted his leg once and we were in there for over half an hour). He has been in 3 of my friends places. I have set up a "pee station" in my apt and he has only used it once and that was because of an over full bladder and I didn't get him out soon enough.

So far so good!

I am positive that all the "no pee" and stopping him from marking (probably managed to catch a quarter of them lol) helped his little brain to know not to pee inside. Now that that raging instinct is gone, normal urges have the training behind them to wait to go outside.

Best of luck to you and your lil one. My Montys bday is May 28th. What's yours?

Calgary eh? Smile. Weather was stunning in Vancouver today. I have sent some your way.
