The AKC Canine Good Citizen training and test are often the standard for therapy dogs. She would need to sit and stay for that test.

Here in the US the Pet Partners and Delta society are popular training groups. Also in some areas the Red Cross certifies therapy dogsled has teams that go out to places.

The liability insurance is key in these certifications, as many nursing home and schools etc will not welcome the pups without that insurance.
