I'm so sorry for your loss. If you're truly struggling to cope and it's greatly affecting your ability to function, maybe look into groups for people who are dealing with the loss of a pet. I know you can find that in certain communities/cities. And you'll be with other people who you can talk with in person who are going through the same thing and be supportive of each other, and some groups I believe are actually run by a psychologist. Actually I think they all are.
It's completely normal to be grieving, crying, struggling to function, etc. But it can be nice to find a support group of people who understand the close bonds we can have with animals, and to just be there for each other. It's just an idea. I know some people might say it's silly, but those type of support groups I believe exist for a reason. The loss of a pet can affect someone just as much as losing a close friend or family member. Yorkietalk is great, but at the end of the day it's just an online community. Just know that there are other resources out there that may help you cope and get through this rough time. |
