I am terrified of losing my littly boy!! He has no fever, or parasites. and at 10 mos only weighs 3.5 lbs. Up until now he has been very healthy and active, but his smallness concerns me as I have heard the little ones can go down quickly when ill. Any ideas out there?? Thanx in advance for your help. |
Robbie had his first bout of colitis about the same age he was hospitalized so his tummy could have a rest and they could iv fluids. After several further episodes he ended up on constant meds a drug called metranidazole that kept him well for about two years but we also had to be firm with his foods only chicken and rice and a vet kibble. At times when he managed to eat something he was not supposed to it would flare up again.
Hopefully Joey will never have another bout as this can happen my friends yorkie is 12 and has colitis she manages to keep it under control but if he does be carefull with his diet and weedle out what may cause a flare up unfortunatly it will be trial and error.
Robbie sadley died after xmas they think his bowel turned to cancer I hope this does not frighten you I did not wish to but it is important to get them to a vet when they become ill.
My husband also has colitis and on meds he keeps well so long as he stays away from indian food.
Good luck.
