Hello, thank you for your replies. Yes, it seems that the disease is more common in the Mediterranean countries where it is warmer. I guess all I can do is hope for the best. If she (I've named her Lucy) does have sandfly then she will be given the best possible treatment. Poor little girl, she spent most of her time outdoors stuck in a tiny area with no protection against sandfly.
