I feed the Merricks with the bones...Smothered Comfort primarily...and I crush the bones up with a spoon or fork and they eat it just fine. I called both Merrick and my vet (and my old vet, just in case) and they all agree that it's OK. The bones will completely crumble in between your fingers and they say it is as safe as a puppy biscuit.
