Like momma said she remembered, it is a greasy, black salve/ointment stuff, smells like a jar of crude oil.....but this old timers stuff WORKS!!!! It makes boils or pimples come to a head, it draws out splinters of wood or glass, rose thorns, bee stingers, etc......I use it to do all the mentioned above.....and I would guess that stuff would help draw out the nasty infection/pus/drainage/dead cells produced by that whatever it is.....I have used it on my dogs for rose thorns in paws....but you have to cover the affected area because you dont want this black ointment all over your house/furniture!!! For a boil or draining bite on the dogs back, this would be great because you can more easily cover the area with a dressing, either a 4 x 4, or a onsie that we use on these dogs when they have had surgery to keep them from licking/biting at sutures.....I have NO idea where I got this stuff...google it and it will come up if you are interested....
Thank you for the info , I will definitely be getting some for the future. I hope not for the same situation but my son has a lab and is forever getting into things.
