We experienced this with our puppy at 15 weeks when we brought her home. It was like having a newborn again. :-( We resolved it by placing her bed next to ours at night. Placed the pad right next to her bed in case she needed to go. She just didn't like being alone in her crate so whined and barked during the night. This worked... she sleeps through the night and no more barking/whining!
