Yorkies are full of energy and if they have good knees are good agility dogs. Breeding has a great deal to do with the patella issues so if you are interested in agility be sure to look closely at this.

Puppies are always a "mess" - it takes some age, maturity and training to calm down. Telegraphing your anxiety to a puppy can be an issue. You may want to consider a retired show dog, or a mature dog that has had some training.

You can go to the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America web site and see the breeders in your area. Be sure to tell anyone you speak with that you need good patellas, if you want to do agility.

My little Yorkie girl (under 4pounds) loves agility and the exercise has been good for both of us! Plus lots of fun! She has also done the 20 months of service dog school so she is very calm, but that is her job.

Good luck with your search. Glad you are not in a hurry. Choose you breeder first,then your pup!!!! Can't emphasize that enough.
