Question normal?

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum. We brought home our little princess Paisley on 12/19. She is our first Yorkie and came from a breeder I'd never use again. I don't want to get into that now. I'm just happy she is home with us safe and sound. She's going to be 10wks old tomorrow (Monday 12/28). My question is an odd one. I've heard horror stories on the first few nights with a new puppy. It's been so long since we've had an 8wk old puppy in the house I don't remember what it was like. Paisley has done none of that. We have her gated in our dining room that's off the kitchen. It's a decent size room, rarely used, quiet and isn't carpeted. I thought she'd be gated in there once I return to work in January and at night she could be in a puppy play pen in the bedroom. She'd have access to her crate, water and pee pad in the playpen. She was rather calm in the dining room. She would cry when we walked out of sight but only for a short time. When gated in there while we ate she also cried but only for a minute or so before entertaining herself. Now. When we tried the playpen at bedtime she freaked out! The whole crying, howling, barking. I put her back in the dining room and she was fine. It's weird. She is quiet all night! I put her in the dining room when she acts tired and she'll crawl up on her doggie bed (she prefers it over the crate) and just go to sleep. At night she sleeps quietly or entertains herself quietly. And she can sleep through almost anything (i think that is due to how chaotic the breeders house was).

She never slept alone before we got her. She had a brother from her litter and lots of other dogs in the house. I just got a baby monitor so I can keep an ear open for her. The bedroom is off the kitchen and I've kept the door open. She hasn't made any noise to wake me or our other dog that sleeps in bed. I know she gets up to potty at night as there will be pee or poo on the pee pads. I want to make sure I'm not missing something so that is what the monitor is for.

I know I should be happy with her being content alone but with it not being the norm... I'm a little concerned. Opinions?
