At our former home we had a neighbor family who's Yorkie was constantly getting out (and usually ending up at my house.) I got really sick of bringing her back home almost every day, they really just didn't care. One day the pup got out and they didn't bother looking for her, not even yelling for her to come home. The dog disappeared that day and they had her replaced within a week. This next pup was watched much better, though she managed to escape a few times, they did at least keep her close. Then they got a male and he is kept close to home as well. Unfortunately, they bred two... But that's an entirely different issue. :P
