Breeders should check for it, but sadly most don't. The majority feel they are only responsible for puppy vaccinations.
Luckily, Giardia is 100% curable with the right medication.

Sorry, YorkieMomNYC, you are wrong about giardia being 100% curable, it is NOT! My vet told me some dogs are NEVER able to get rid of it, and some dogs, although not often, do DIE from it!
