I've had dentals done on my dogs at 14 years of age! I would do preanesthethic blood work, make sure someone is monitoring your dog's vital signs during the procedure, and find out if they use safe anesthesia like isoflourane gas. There is a sticky in the library about anesthesia. It's very safe for most patients. Good luck!
