Unless you're involved in medicine in some way, most people don't even know how antibiotics really work....so how would they know which antiobiotic to even use...? Is the bug they're trying to treat Gram+ or Gram- ? How resistant is it? What is it resistant to? Should you use a 1st-line antibiotic or one of the more aggressive ones...? And on and on and on....

So nope, no way.
