Not all antibiotics are the same and only a vet is qualified to determine which one is appropriate and dosage/details for administering.

I also believe it is important to have a vet examine the animal when antibiotics are needed. Our pets are weighed, the vet listens to heart and lungs, and so on.
I agree. I know a lot about conditions and meds and all, but still am very aware that my vets know a whole heck of a lot than I do and I don't want to miss something and end up with an even sicker pup.
