Even a reputable breeder that searched their mating pair lineage 10 / 15 generations back cannot GUARANTEE a pups weight will be 5 to 7 lbs which is yorkie standard. Breeders use the word "tea cup" to indicate they breed for the smaller dog 5 to 7 lbs and under. As above members have stated there is no such thing as a "teacup" yorkie. Just a phase used to lure ppl looking for tiny dogs and charge more money. Yorkies come in all sizes, my now passed girl was 100% AKC yorkie, as an adult she weighed a beautiful 17 Lbs. beautiful sleek body, my adopted boy weighs 12 lbs. I don't know what you mean when you say your puppy looks like a Schnauzer, do you mean your pups face looks like a Schnauzer or the pups hair color looks like a Schnauzer. Did you get AKC papers for your pup? In any case, you love the puppy that is all that matters. He is only 6 months old, there will be many changes in his development and hair coloring over the next several months Yes I would be ticked off if I was sold a dog that was NOT a yorkie.
