My Xena is 1 year and had her left knee operation in July, and on the 3rd day she was starting to jump around and i was rather nervous. I hid all her toys, no jumping on beds/couches and and kept her indoors..rest was what she needed and lots of it. The medication made her groggy and she would try to jump and fall..so she was always supervised. She is recovering well and back to herself walking and jumping running and still sometimes picks her leg off the ground. I'm hoping its just a habit and still the recovery and getting used to her all fours. Her vet says he is happy with her recovery and it will take time for her to use her leg 100% and a gradual process.I am relieved that she is in no more pain.I will take her back again for a check up this week. I'm sure they will make full recovery, its harder on us...My daughter told me this morning I am over protective of Xena - I cant help it..lol
