You have engaged this beast in battle, and you are winning! Congratulations on surviving your recent battle......you are a very strong person to be as sick as you were and come out on this side, intact and alive! You are certainly up to the fight ahead of you, reorganizing your diet/intake to avoid a re-occurrence of this nasty disease! Prayers for strength as you try to adjust your new life and diet to keep you in tip top shape.....loving the help and encouragement you are getting from your significant other!!!!
I was wondering about alcohol in cooking. I know when you put in wine or whatever, the alcohol cooks off. So if you use vanilla extract, you bake the cake or cookies, doesn't that cook off the alcohol? I'm not much of a sweets eater anyway, but wanted to know.

It is easy to think we are infallible when we are young and strong and stories like yours are terrifying reminders that so often end up very sad tragedies. I am so glad for your new start! I know it will be hard but I am sure you can do it, you are so strong- look at your survival drive! You will do great
Is your sister a heavy drinker? I was trying to tell my brother the same thing. He is a pretty heavy drinker. Not every day like I was, but when he drinks, he really drinks. Even if not getting sick like I did, but getting a DUI, or worse hitting someone. I hear stories of that all the time here in Vegas. Drunk driver hits man walking to work and kills him, and he has a family and newly married or something tragic like that. It's just not worth it.
