We have about the same climate as you do, so our dogs likely have roughly the same temperature tolerances. High 70s to low 80s is warm enough to make my boys pant after vigorous exercise, including a good barking session in the car.
I often make them chill/finish panting for a few minutes when we return home before I serve them dinner -- although I will give them the small treat right away.
Hoping that is all it is for Lily, that she is just panting and excited after having a blast outdoors.
