I used the crate training method with my puppy but she did not sleep through the night until about 20 weeks. She slept in her crate on my bed and woke up once or sometimes twice each night because she had to go pee. A dog hates to pee in their own crate and we don't want them to have to. Since their bladders are way to tiny to expect to hold it all night long, it means us having to get up in the night to take them out. Sucks. Reminded me of having a newborn. But, like with a baby, good bonding and taught my girl that if she has a need, I will meet it. |
