Love Chloe attacked by Racoon

I was shaken to the core today, after dinner I took Chloe & Abby out to pee in the backyard, it was about 5:00pm, still sunny and bright. Chloe went to walk by the outside staircase and a racoon ran out and attcked her, they rolled under the stairs, they where biting, snarling, screeching, scratching, I drove under the stairs and grabbed Chloe's hair and pulled her out, she was screeching, shaking and so terrified. I put her in my arms and ran to pick up Abby an we ran inside. I was so so scared, I was screaming and crying. My husband came running, I held Chloe while my husband looked her over, I couldn`t put her down yet she was so scared and so was I. Unbelievably there were no injuries, we checked her over from head to toe and her mouth. I just rapped her in a blankie and held her in my arms for about an hour, she is always up to date with her shots (rabbies +). She seems fine now it`s been about 3 hours now. Abby was not involved I grabbed her so fast after, I don`t think she knew what was going on. I will never ever, let them out in the backyard again without a leash on. I thought it was enough that I never let them out alone, I always go out with them, but I guess not. I took so long to calm down, things can change so fast. I love my girls so much, they are so precious to me, I would do anything to protect them. I thank heaven they are ok.
