I have one 13 yr old pup who is in complete health other than a slight heart murmur and a 6 yr old in perfect health. Both are over weight (above standers with medium frame average of 13lbs) so I want something that will also help with that, that is good for them and their coat and teeth. Currently they are on Pedigree small breed and have done really well with it. Its not the best of course but at the time I had four pups and cost factored into out decision. Plus, I have tried unsuccessfully three other times throughout the years to switch them to another better brand of food. It always ends up in a nasty runny mess for months on end so I have had to switch them back. I have done some research and found two brands that are not only affordable but seem to a good blend of nutritious foods. The cost is about double of what I spend now for a 50lb bag but if it will help get them down to a better weight and keep continue to keep them healthy I don't' mind the spending a bit more.
One is Blue Buffalo the other is 4Health both are adult/senior formula, both have very similar ingredients if not the same. 4Health is only sold at TLC (35lbs for 36.99) Blue Buffalo cost 33.99 for only 15lbs. Which is a huge difference in price.
