I had a neighbour's Shih Tzu who fell seriously ill at 2 years old when the owner tried her on raw. I can't remember the brand she told me but it was those raw patties that you buy at the pet store. The dog ended up at the ER for about a week fighting some sort of infection. I couldn't really make out what she was telling me as she was crying at the same time as they did not know if the dog will make it at the time but the dog did survive. After that, she never attempted feeding her dog raw again.

I have a friend who worked as a vet tech as well and I hear horror stories from her about dogs coming in sick from eating a raw diet. I think it really depends on the dog. If the dog is 100% healthy I think it'd be fine.

I had mine on raw as well a few years back but he did not do well on it. His poop was never normal and it always had a mucusy coating to it just like when they had worms etc kind of look so I stopped. I don't think I'd try feeding raw again. Mine is on prescription diet now after a bad bout of pancreatitis because of high fat food and I supplement with some steamed skinless boneless chicken breast and raw veg & fruit juice with pulp strained off. He has been doing well on it so I think it really depends on the individual dog.
