Yorkiemom- I think something else may have gone on. I've never heard of that before, ever.
No...unfortunately I had too many people that were very knowledgeable in feeding raw chicken to 4 week old puppies, share similar experiences....and since I am not really a "newbie" in this breeding game, and been doing this since the '80's, I have just a little knowledge about what went on with those babies and what precipitated it! Had never had that situation before, and have never had it since....and as far as "a balanced diet", you do not start toothless, 4 week old baby on a "balanced raw diet"...they are JUST getting their feet wet, and venturing away from momma's teats. Ferrets have an entirely different gastric/digestive system, so I do not doubt the ferret has no issue with eating raw food.....and dogs do not have a problem eating a raw diet, when their systems are mature enough to digest and process raw food in their intestines!

All of you with pups and ferrets that are doing fine on raw diets, how OLD are these dogs/animals?
