I know I shouldn't let it bother me Hi, I'm pretty much just a lurker on YT but somebody said something today that really irked me... I have a 9-10 pound Yorkie that I rescued from a backyard breeder. She is 7 years old and has had at least 2 litters. She looks like what I have always thought of as a typical, but not show standard Yorkie.... Sooo this evening an acquaintance distainfully told me that I had a very cute yorkie mix... I told her she was full yorkie and she sort of rolled her eyes.. lol. I don't know why but it chapped my hide. Yorkies, like all dogs come in a range of sizes... My dog growing up was a miniature schnauzer that actually was conformation size; those are way rarer than a conformation size Yorkie, but you never hear people say "oh your schnauzer weighs more than such and such so it must be a mix"... What's the deal with that? In the grand scheme of things I know it doesn't really matter. An awesome dog is an awesome dog, and I purposely got a bigger more sturdy yorkie for practical reasons, but ugh, it still bothers me!!! |
