I already have them scheduled with the vet for Sunday less than 24 hours after they arrive. I wanted to get that taken care of right away.

I actually have handyman here right now because I seem to be the only one that cannot install a baby gate by myself. I blame it on the baseboards that needed to come out.
Crazy but very true lol, If I had not gone home and saw these two in the living room I would never have believed it.
I think I know the kind of gate you are installing, the first ones I got for those lil monkeys worked by fitting them between the inside of the molding, there was a bar you pushed down on and this forced the ends of the baby gates against the door molding. I don't think they sell them any more. Years later when I got my yorkies I got one that had gated door on it, I had a problem with the raised floor saddle, but I was able to work around that. For yearsssss I have not had the need for baby gates, so I don't know they are selling anymore. Well I see you are very committed to the safety of these two babies you are getting. Great that you are getting them to the vet right away, that's so important. The first week with rescues are important as they are in strange surroundings with new smells and you, a stranger, although they will have each other for comfort they still may be scared and confused. Sad that you have to miss a family get together, but these two cannot be left alone so soon after getting them. It's just wonderful of you to not break these two babies up and took both of them. You will never regret if. It will be work at the beginning, new to you, but you will sort things out, get a schedule / routine set up. You will come to wonder how did you ever live without them lol. You will never be alone or lonely, and much laughter will enter your life with these two. When I was commuting from Pa. to my NY job ppl would ask "you live alone" I would say noooo, I live with my dog lol.
Where ever you are getting these babies from make sure you ask what food they are eating and have that in the house for them, don't change their food, if you are not happy with what they are eating change it later. These two will be making many adjusts changing foods now should be avoided until they are well settled in. Have you picked out names for them or leaving them with the names they have?
