My brother-in-law who lives with us had a Miniature Pincher. I also have 2 neighbors with min-pins. They are very sweet and loves attention. I was suprised at how much they shed.
I have to say, I have discouraged people who never had a dog before from getting a Min-Pin because they are Extremely Energitic and tough to train. It's almost like they have attention defecit disorder.
Daisy, my brother's dog, tore up the lenolium floor, dug a hole through the wall, tore up carpet and more. My neighors dog Lucy is a sweetheart but she also has torn things up while mom's at work. My other neighbor's dog Xena is a chronic barker and will not let anyone pet her. These are all owners with full-time jobs.
I looked up info on them and it seems these bad behavior is common in Min-Pins who are not exercised or challenged on a regular basis. They get bored and become destructive.
But.... I'm sure there are MANY who are well adjusted. I just don't recommend them to busy people or who are not experianced with dogs.
Please read up on the breed before you choose to get one. |
