We have tried a paper plate with minimal results. I have taken him to a Vet and Bentley checks out fine. He reccomended mixing his food with baby food or straight baby food, he eats only slightly more this way. The Vet said it primarily could be the new environment and missing of his siblings that is causing him not to eat. To put it all in perspective, he is eating slightly less than 1/3 of a cup of food per day, he is drinking water it seems regularly. He urinates regularly and has a bowel movement once a day.
His food is very small and he is able to get it in his mouth ok, he will eat several pieces of food if you hand feed him then he walks away and looks everywhere but at you if you try to feed him more. We have also tried making the food softer with water as well as beef broth.
Bentley seems to sleep quite a bit but we hear this is normal. When he is awake he is alert and attentive and has energy to run and play.
Any help or words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated. |

I think a little less than 1/3 of a cup of food a day is GREAT for a 9 week old baby!! He is eating like most babies eat....grab a bite on and off all day long, nap frequently, drink plenty of water....he sounds fine. Just be sure the food he is eating, is geared towards a puppy with protein, etc....
