I had my moms little dog done and she was not affected. I am going to have tonee done but i am waiting for my new yorkie and have them done together. the military vets recommend because we move so much. each time you move or change your number you have to contact the registry though. the only problem i have found with them is that many vets and shelters don't even bother to scan for them. my vet said the scanner are not cheap so not all vets have them. your pet could be lost or stolen and thought the chip is suppose to help get them back to you, it only works if they are scanned.
