But how many Caucasians are pulled over, patted down, cars disassembled for "routine" traffic stops versus nonwhites? By all means law enforcement should do their jobs effectively and to the best of their abilities, but if their perceptions are already clouded by the prejudgement that the nonwhite individual is a threat how effective can they really do their jobs???
Tbh what a cop goes through before interacting with me shouldn't have anything to do with how he treats me. I'm a wife, mother, and nurse. If my husband and son do something to annoy me should I take it out on one of my patients because of what someone else did? No, I think not. We're all hunan, make mistakes, not perfect but those in law enforcement professions need to have better training and not use the fatal measures as their first line of defense if other options are available.
If I get pulled over, I'm trying to go on about my business as quickly as possible. Giving "attitude", "sass", or whatever you think, is the furthest thing on my mind.
My son isn't taught to fear police, but he is taught his history which unfortunately includes police brutality. I will say a lot of children no matter what ethnicity are not taught to have respect for any authority figures which can elevate certain situations.
I'm not excusing that individual in Texas actions if they shot the police officer while he was pumping gas(seems cowardly and inhumane) ESPECIALLY with no provocation.
