I either don't say anything if they have an accident and just clean it up (using the pee pad to clean it up so the smell is on that) or I just very calmly say "We got potty on the pad, not on the carpet." I have 2 puppies and oh my gosh when we brought them home I swear I cleaned up accidents about 30 times a day. I praised when they went on the potty pad and now I clean up a few accidents a week between the 2 of them. Ignoring them having an accident is working well for mine and praising like crazy when they go outside or on the pad seems to be working.
Good luck. I hope this behavior goes away soon. My puppies are 2 months older than your puppy and they are going really good on potty training. When it is just me and them during the day (hubby at work and kids at school) I typically have 1 accident a week with them. After the kids get home from school and hubby is here in the evening they have more, a few a week. I don't know if it is because there are more people, more commotion for them or if it is me being so distracted by other things that I don't take them outside as often.
