How do you react when he poops on the pad? I got 2 puppies in May, so my pups are about 2 months older than him.

When mine pee or poop on the pad I praise them and tell them they are good puppies. When they poop on the pad I leave it sitting there for a little bit and tell them they are good. Then after anywhere from 5 minutes to a few hours later I pick up the poop and flush it. By having it sit there sometimes they see that it is a good thing. I do try to pick it up within 20 minutes usually, but sometimes all the doggies decide to lay down and sleep so I just get it later as they are usually piled on me.

Make sure you praise well when they go on the pad. Remove it after they have walked away and are not paying any attention.

I have heard of dogs that will start hiding where they potty if they think their owner is unhappy with them going in the house, which is why I praise when they use the pee pad. If mine go other than the pee pad, I will soak up urine with the pee pad and then put the pad where it normally goes or I will set the poop onto the pee pad and leave it there for a little while before disposing of it.
