Hi Desiree
I am also new to this forum and very glad to have discovered it. I also have two tiny Yorkies, Katie and Lexie. Katie is 3 years old and Lexie 2 years old. They are both very picky eaters. They started out on Royal Canine mother & baby starter, but refused the RC Yorkie kibbles. They were itching like crazy and had a lot of tummy issues while I was searching for the right food. Eventually they settled with Acana small breed kibble and they are both very happy to eat it. I dehydrate ostrich fillet strips and chicken breast strips for them as treats. Lexie prefers the ostrich. I find that they tend to vomit when they get too hungry and then they refuse to eat. I keep glucose powder in the medicine cabinet and allow them to lick some from my fingers. Usually they feel better after eight minutes (I actually timed it) and then you can start feeding them crumb sized morsels of their treats. Hope this will help in some way. I recently discovered that a lot of their tummy issues are caused by Giardia and when treated with Flagyl, gives immediate relief. |
