Thank you for your reply! I think you might be right. I think we are feeding him too much accidentally. Luckily this is recent--unfortunately, we keep the kibble in a sealable container and scrapped the bag. We'll have to cut it back.

As for the scooting, he has since stopped so I think that problem has subsided--maybe it was the catalyst but it should be getting better.

My guess is the combination of chicken and too much kibble. Once again, thanks for your help!

If anyone else has any suggestions, that would be appreciated too.
