I feed my dogs grain free food also. I feed them what the bag says to feed their weight: 1/4 - 1/2 c. a day for 0-5 lbs.; 3/4 - 1 1/4 c. for 10 - 20 lbs. I just checked the bag. Their food has 416Kcal/cup.

I didn't check it on a dog food calculator. Duncan seemed to be gaining enough weight and Elliot doesn't seem to be overly hungry so I figured they were getting the correct amount of food.

I looked at the pictures you posted of Bruiser. To me, he does look thin in the pictures but then, I am used to Duncan who is almost 12 lbs. Elliot is 4 lbs. but she is pretty small; her legs are half the size, maybe smaller of Bruiser's legs.

I always treated my dogs like kids. If they were hungry, they would let us know. If they didn't want to eat anymore, they were full.
