To the OP: Your dog does know it's limits. Relax and enjoy. Would you jump off a cliff? Neither would your dog. I'm sorry that you were sold an undersized dog. I understand why you feel worried. But yorkies rank in intelligence among the top 15 breeds in the world. Dogs have excellent depth perception. And you can't confine your dog everyday, just as you wouldn't confine a child, for fear of something happening. They, like a child, need to run, play, grow. You are correct to provide a watchful eye, but the issue should not be consuming you to the point that you are too scared to let your dog live life in their own home. My yorkies are bigger than yours. Could they still make stupid decisions? Absolutely. Do they? No. They are just as capable of getting hurt as yours. But they don't.
