So here we are two years on and my family extended by one little 16 month, 4lb parti coated member. This one spends all her nights snuggled up to me. Her favorite nightcap is 'Congo Lullaby'. Being a base baratone I attempt, miserably to render it like the great Paul Robeson. She's asleep on her back, front legs stretched up within a few minutes. If I'm tired and forget, she gently chews my fingers until she gets her night time fix. At 30 months Crystal pretends it's all a bit silly, but always snuggles into my back - and then starts snoring! If there's a bad storm, or they become aggravated by exterior disturbance I've found singing in a naturally deep voice very softly sooths their little troubles away. My mother was a renowned amateur 'Mezzo Soprano' and I recall her performing the same gift for me as a child. I loved her beautiful voice and can here her playing the piano and singing 'Blow the winds southerly' even to this day.
Here's the master's version of 'Holly's favourite
