That must have been scary!! It happened to us so make sure you help him keep his head up and tilt him forward a little so that he doesn't swallow it by accident.... That can give him aspiration pneumonia. Try to feed him every 3 hours for the first 24hrs. The a/d puppy food can give him diarrhea also so make sure you ask how long he can eat it for. In my case, I could only feed her that the first 24 hours. Once he starts eating better reduce it to 4 for a week and then to 6 hours but if he seems to be getting bad again go back to feeding him more often.
Look at his gums a lot a go by that to give him the nutrical. His gums should be pink and if they are not you must give him the nutrical. I was giving her a lot and I mean a lot of nutrical that I kept asking asking my vet if it was fine and she said it was because giving her too much would only give her diarrhea. Oh and apply it directly to the roof of the mouth because the body will absorb it faster.
