The gene is recessive, which means that in order for it to be expressed the pup had to get a copy from both parents. The other puppies from this breeding have a 50% chance of being carriers of the gene. Doesn't mean they won't be great pets. It does, however, mean that they should be spayed/neutered and not be used for breeding because you don't want to take the risk of passing on the gene and getting more blue borns. Whoever gets the other pups should be made aware that there was a blue born in the litter and the possibility that their pup carries the gene.
