I'm so sorry for the loss of your Westie -- he sounded so precious to you. I'm sure he lived the very best life and he was clearly so well taken care of.
I'm glad you have a new little fur ball to add to your life! He is just adorable!!! Too cute. This stage of color can be quite normal for many -- I've seen these colors end up both "blonde" and black and blonde/silvery...so you'll have to wait and see how it settles. A yorkie's color can change a lot the first couple years.
