Hi everyone,
This Wednesday I pick up my 13 week old yorkie, Georgia! She is my first puppy but my second dog. We lost our beloved Monet last August (rescued shih tzu pom). We had Monet for 11 wonderful years, rescued her when she was almost 3.
Anyhow, I plan on feeding The Honest Kitchen along with homemade food. Her treats wil be vegan/vegetarian and of course limited! I ordered the turkey and the base of The Honest Kitchen. Just curious if the quinoa and chicken would be too much protein? My cats (persians and himalayans) eat grain free hard (NOW! by PetCurean for about 10 years) and Organix soft food mixed with raw spinach and 'some' organic pure pumpkin. I'm pretty knowledgeable with cats as I've had them all of my life and have dealt with A LOT of illnesses (seizures, CRF, arthritis etc...).
Any tips and advise is much appreciated! At her 12 week check up he was 3.6lbs, guess she'll be 6-7lbs full grown. She had an inguinal hernia and the vet said she would spay at the same time and Georgia is healing...not the point of this post but I am waiting until her 2nd check up from her surgery to wean her from Royal Canin puppy.
As for her 3rd set of vaccines...because she will NEVER be kenneled do I skip the kennel vaccine? What about the Rabies? She will get that vaccine, just not sure if I should wait a little longer?!
She is pee pee pad trained and I plan on keeping it that way. Our winters can get up to -52! I only work part-time (3 hours a day, 5 days a week for the school board so holidays and summers off

).
