I am so very sorry to hear what you and little Cody went thru. You certainly did NOT let him down. You did everything in your power to try to get him treated. It was the vet who screwed up in a big way! Thats pure negligence and not your expertise. We may have our gut instincts about what is wrong with our pets, but we rely on our vets and their education and experience to determine the cause and cure. In this case that wasn't done at all. My first thought is that the first time you picked him up, the vet didnt come out to speak to you. I hope you find satisfaction in filing a report for "wrongful" death, if that even exists in animal cases. But at the very least I would cause as much trouble as I could for this particular vet!
It wont ease the pain of losing your beautiful little boy, but you may help prevent this happening to some other innocent animal. My prayers and heart are with you...I know this is a pain that only other dog lovers understand. They are actual family members and beloved in every sense of the word..xox It's brutal that this has happened. |
