Which could be considered fraud if not true and should be documented. You would be wise if you are traveling such long distances to have paper work from a psychiatrist so you don't get waylaid along the way. Understand that some states have additional service/support type dog requirements -- however in general the Federal ADA laws trump the state requirements except ADA only relates to Service Dogs not emotional support dogs. Emotional support dog lasts come under the FHAA housing and ACAA.

If the dog is old enough to to be trained to performs a specific psychiatric task other than just companion then with documentation you dog could be a psychiatric service dog.

There has been so much fraud lately that folks are getting very gun shy about the service dog thing.
