Certainly, when a pup does not tolerate an ingredient in a formula, regardless of the brand, it must be avoided. My cousin homecooked for her little dog....boiled chicken and I dont know what else she added. Unfortunately, her little dog had an allergy to chicken, so "home cooking" presented very real and disturbing issues for her little dog....cant condem all home cooking and all chicken based meals as being unhealthy or toxic for all dogs...just her little dog! Same thing with corn...my dogs have been on RC for 35+ years with absolutely NO adverse reactions.....best of results, excellent vim and vigor and vitality, health wise and appearance, coats, GI tolerance, formed stools, etc.....
I do know that I consult a dentist when I need dental work done in my mouth, and not a vet nutritionist.....likewise, I consult vet nutritionists for advice on the virtues and values and recommendations for dog food, rather than a dentist.
