Crystal salivates at first then retches. We now don't feed her before travel, but 4 hours is a long time for a little system to bridge. I thought of getting up early and feeding her 2 hours before we leave with a light breakfast, adding some tablets to the meal as she hates pills. I plan to stop every 90 mins or so for water and a stretch also?

I wonder what's in the Johnson's pills....ginger maybe...? Ginger can help and it's natural.

My Dad's dog had car sickness its first year of life, and I wish I could recall what the vet prescribed bc it worked perfectly...maybe it was cerenia...? Or something similar perhaps. I've also heard that even Benadryl helps some dogs.

Have you tried giving the pills w/ peanut butter at all...this works for my kiddos. But I know for some it just doesn't.

Yup, we usually stop about every couple hours when we travel too...for potty breaks, water, and whatnot.

Oh also, I always bring along an empty syringe in case I have to force water. Well, and I admit I bring along about 20 other dog-emergency things too ...like benadryl in case of stings or whatevs.
